It’s amazing how abstract natural things can be. Usually you think of them as opposites, natural images rooted solidly in reality, abstract ones having little at all to do with that reality stuff.
But all it takes is a different look, a change in perspective or zoom or the ilk far beyond what we encounter in normal life, and the familiar becomes the unknown.
Here, for instance, the clouds and sun of twilight are familiar, but being surrounded by clouds isn’t so much. The familiar order of ground below is disrupted, and the heavens come to visit.
