The Most Amazing Sight Ever!

These, these are the most beautiful mountains in Wyoming!

Forget the magnificent canyons of the Bighorn mountains, the majestic peaks around Yellowstone, even the Grand Tetons!

They all pale in comparison with-

No wait, wrong photo. Sorry.

They’re still rather decent low mountains, at least? Would be downright amazing in, say, Kansas. Could go up against a lot of the Appalachians with ease, too.

The Most Deadly Beast of All (is not appearing in this post)

You know what this world needs?

More velociraptors.

I’m sure you agree.

…You know, now that I think of it, I wonder if velociraptors left any descendent species. That stuff’s really tough to track, though. But who knows, this vain peacock could be a direct descendent of a viscous killing machine!

Not that real velociraptors were that bad. Jurassic Park took the name from one dinosaur and the looks of another and made movie magic with it. I don’t know which dinosaur they took the appearance and behavior from, I’ve never been a dinosaur buff and can’t keep all the names straight. But velociraptors were small dinosaurs, and feathered. About the size of this peacock, actually…

Simple Steam

Photo #774: Steaming HillLocation Taken: Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Time Taken: October 2012

There is a part of this planet that looks like this every day. It’s nothing special, really, just steam rising from the earth. Every single day, whether there’s tourists around to see it or not. If you toss in all the similar spots around the globe, well, why do we find it so unusual in the first place?!

Practically common, I’d say. After all, if you lived here, you’d be all like “Yup, the hill’s steaming again. Wonder which way the wind’s going to blow it today.” No big deal.

Makes me wonder which everyday aspects of my life would be mind-blowing to others, just like the awesomeness of this steaming crater was to me…

…The internet alone would be high up there to someone not used to it.
