Is there anything as peaceful as a still lake covered in fog?

…I have nothing to say about this photo…

And yet, the second I saw it, I knew to be the one I would post today.

And every time I stare at it, my mind enters a peaceful calm, with no thoughts in my head nor any need for there to be thoughts.

And all is right in this tiny section of the world.

I’ve already leveled up once in my Sleeping Skill and six times in Walking!

Wait, I have to post something today? But, but, game!

If you’ve got any interest in a game based around farming, fighting monsters, and befriending people, pick up Rune Factory 4. Well, at least if you have a sense of humor like mine. I’m not sure how the translators managed it quite so well, but they’ve done an excellent job this time making the text just work right for humor and characterization and everything. And that’s with the tremendous difficulty of translating something with this much text.

I mean, I had laughed out loud at least five times, including one where I just had to set down my new 2DS for a little until I got myself under control, before I even got to the point where I name my character! I’ve only played for one in-game day so far, and I love the game already.

Now, the Rune Factory series has long been a favorite, with its delightfully eccentric blend of fantasy RPG and farming simulation (The title of this post isn’t a joke, by the way.  That should give you a glimmer of an idea of how oddball this game is.), and there’s so many things in this edition of the game I have yet to do, but I can already tell this is going to be a real blast to play through.

I’m not sure when I’ll get back to the other game I picked up today, Pokemon X. And that’s really saying something, since I love the pokemon series as well…

…I’ll try to remember to, you know, continue posting, even if it’s with somewhat random photos…

Apparently I can’t draw when I have only one brain cell. So sad, so sad.

Photo #571: Random PersonTime Drawn: November 2006

Man, I had a great idea for a post today.

I’d draw a quick picture of a taco, and then say:

“Guess what I had for dinner?!”

“Baby artichokes with ginger and cranberries with bison meat served with white rice, of course!”

(That actually is what I had for dinner, mind you. It was rather tasty. I love knowing how to cook.)

“What, no one guessed it right? Most of you guessed ‘taco’ instead?! That’s odd…”

“Wait, it’s the picture I posted, isn’t it? Now why would I ever pair an image with a post, that’s just crazy talk…”

Alas, I went to try to make that picture of a taco and my brain went “nope, no art for you, I make random scribbles instead!” and yeah, let’s just say I’m not planning on sharing that piece of “artwork”.

So have a random picture I drew a while ago of some random person in front of some even more random stuff.

Pretend it’s what I planned all along, if you’d be so kind.

As Calm as a Chimecho Blowing in the Wind…

Photo #569: Calm RocksLocation Taken: Just south of Thermopolis, Wyoming
Time Taken: November 2012

I’m keeping myself in a calm mood lately. The rain that’s been falling for the last few days have really helped with it.

I’m so calm I’m practically meditating just sitting here, listening to the rain and typing.

I need to stay calm, just a few more days…

…Or I’ll get overly obsessed with deciding whether to go with Froakie or Fennekin when I buy Pokemon X on Monday. I traditionally go with the fire starter, but I like the look of the ninja frog Froakie becomes, but Fennekin becomes Fire/Psychic on its last evolution which sounds really interesting, but Froakie goes Water/Dark which are both types I really like playing, but a lot of the new pokemon are of the new fairy type which is weak to psychic and strong against dark so Fennekin would be better there, but several of the pokemon you run into early in the game are fire type so having a water pokemon would be handy, but-

Calm! Collected! Downright zen-like! Really!

I am a rock, calm as a rock…

…Froakie would be better against the rock types in caves, you know…
